BEHAVIORISM
Focus: Learning is produced by changes in one’s behavior with environmental influence
Two main elements are the stimulus and response that produce behavior.
These changes could remain for a longer time with appropriate motivation
Motivation exists in many ways such as:
- Rewards
- Incentives
- Reinforcements
COGNITIVIST THEORY
Focus: One build understanding through mental (thinking) process and interaction with the environment.
CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY
Focus: Learning is an active process in which learners construct new ideas or concepts based upon their current or past knowledge.
Schema: idea and knowledge in a one's mind
Adaptation: a process of making adjustments
Assimilation: a process when a person receives knowledge and puts in their mind
Accommodation: A person changes his schema (mind) to suit with the new knowledge
